Lined with a green floral interior
All Caro Nan purses have their trademark penny on the lid. This one features an Indian Head penny from 1907
Signature on the inside of the lid as shown
It is in great condition with no signs of damage or wear
Made from sturdy, handmade, New England baskets from Vermont, each purse is a one of a kind, original work of art
They are so sturdy that women would sit on them and/or use them as booster seats for their kids
The company was started in 1965 by two women in Jackson, Mississippi named Caroline and Nancy, hence the company name
In 2016 the ESSE Purse Museum in Little Rock featured several of these unique folk art pieces in a show curated just for them
